The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (DN8) is the 8th-generation midsize sedan built on Hyundai-Kia's third-generation N3 vehicle architecture. Production began in March 2019 at the Asan plant in South Korea, with the Hybrid variant entering production in February 2020. The DN8 replaced the LF Sonata and introduced the "Sensuous Sportiness" design language with a lower, wider stance than its predecessor.
Market | Nameplate | Years | Compatibility |
|---|---|---|---|
South Korea | Hyundai Sonata Hybrid | 2019-present | Direct fit |
North America | Hyundai Sonata Hybrid | 2020-2023 | Direct fit (discontinued) |
China | Beijing Hyundai Sonata | 2019-present | Direct fit |
Southeast Asia | Hyundai Sonata | 2020-present | Direct fit |
Middle East | Hyundai Sonata | 2019-present | Direct fit |
The DN8 Sonata rides on the Hyundai-Kia N3 platform, shared with the Kia K5 (formerly Optima). While the platform is common, the two vehicles have distinct body panels, wheel arch shapes, and bumper designs. Mud flaps molded for the Sonata DN8 will NOT fit the Kia K5 despite the shared platform.
FWD only: The Sonata Hybrid is exclusively front-wheel drive, so mud flap coverage is uniform across all units without AWD/RWD variants to account for
Battery placement: The hybrid battery pack is located under the rear seat, not affecting wheel well or fender geometry
Ground clearance: 135 mm (5.3 in), identical to the gasoline DN8, so mud flap positioning is consistent across the DN8 family
The Sonata was discontinued in the United States after the 2023 model year but continues in production at the Asan plant in South Korea for domestic and export markets. Existing vehicle parc in North America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia sustains ongoing aftermarket demand for replacement mud flaps.

The DN8 has a 35 mm longer wheelbase and 25 mm wider track than the LF it replaced. Wheel arch dimensions changed accordingly. Mud flaps designed for the 7th-gen LF Sonata will NOT fit the 8th-gen DN8.
The page lists "2018-2019" as fitment years. Per public automotive databases, the DN8 Sonata entered production in March 2019 and the Hybrid variant specifically began production in February 2020 (model year 2020). The stated year range may reflect a different sourcing convention. Regardless of year labeling, all DN8 Hybrid units share identical wheel arch geometry, so mud flap fitment is consistent across the entire DN8 production run.
All DN8 Sonata Hybrid trims share the same fender and wheel arch stamping. Mud flaps fit uniformly across:
Blue trim (base hybrid)
SEL trim
Limited trim
Top trims with 17-inch or 18-inch wheels
Wheel size (16-inch, 17-inch, or 18-inch) does not affect mud flap fitment, as the flaps mount to the fender lip, not the wheel itself.
Material | Properties | Best For |
|---|---|---|
PP (Polypropylene) | High elasticity, bending resistance, UV stable, lightweight | Standard export, all-climate use |
PP+TPE | PP base with TPE overlay for enhanced flexibility in cold climates | Cold-weather markets (Russia, Central Asia) |
TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) | Soft-touch, superior low-temperature performance, recyclable | Premium aftermarket, eco-conscious buyers |
ABS | Rigid, impact-resistant, paintable surface | Custom color matching, show-quality finish |
Each set ships with three fastener types to accommodate varying fender configurations:
Plastic Fender Fastener Clips: Push-in clips matching OEM fender liner retainers. No drilling required for vehicles with existing clip holes.
U-Clip Screws: U-shaped metal clips that grip the fender lip, secured with self-tapping screws. For positions without pre-existing holes.
Allen Screws with Hex Key: Hex-drive screws for supplementary mounting points. Allen key included in the kit for tool-free assembly.

Auto parts are essential components for the proper functioning of vehicles used in car assembly lines or for maintenance and repair services after purchase. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) provides a wide range of OES, aftermarket replacement parts, including AC compressors, cylinder heads, oil pumps, power steering pumps, starter motors, and turbochargers. These components are installed in powertrains, steering systems, rear axle assemblies, and chassis assemblies. Auto parts need to meet the design specifications and performance requirements of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, as well as comply with local regulations or CAPA certification. Depending on the requirements based on OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for material or design improvements, aftermarket parts may outperform the original genuine parts.
Car accessories are AFTERMARKET MODIFIED PARTS for cars after the production line. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) offers a variety of accessories, including an airflow snorkel, bumper, door visors, matting, spoiler, and trunk tray. The car accessories are not performance parts and generally do not affect the original power and safety. They are used to modify the appearance style, enhance off-road capabilities, or increase driving comfort. Compared to the genuine accessories, we offer customization services for aftermarket replacement accessories that cater to the buyer's specific requirements. Each accessory can be designed specifically for different car models.
