PS (polystyrene): The most economical and is typically paired with chrome/steel trim inserts (electroplated bright strip, mirror stainless steel, or 3D stainless steel). The traditional choice for S-Class owners seeking the original factory appearance.
Three chrome trim designs are available to match the S-Class aesthetic:
Electroplated Bright Strip: Chrome-plated plastic trim with high-shine metallic luster and anti-oxidation surface treatment. Best paired with PS material body for a traditional factory appearance.
Mirror Stainless Steel: Smooth, single-reflection design that fits flush into the door visor groove. Creates an "embedded" appearance.
3D Stainless Steel: Curved, multi-angle reflection design that complements the door visor's natural curve. Best paired with PC material body for maximum flexibility.
The W220, W221, W222, and W223 long-wheelbase variants (V220, V221, V222, V223) share the same rear door frame geometry as their short-wheelbase counterparts. Maybach S-Class (W222-based, 2015-2020; W223-based, 2021-Present) and Pullman derivatives are supported across all four generations. When touched by hand, the curvature of the electroplated bright trim is more three-dimensional and rounder than that of the 3D stainless steel chrome trim. To improve weather resistance characteristics, anti-oxidation surface treatment can be applied to electroplated bright trims. Electroplated bright trim s are usually matched with PS materials. |
