This wind deflector set fits the BMW M3 across five generations of production, from the E36 (1992-1999) through the current G80 (2020-Present). Each generation features unique door frame dimensions and body panel designs, meaning door visors are generation-specific and not interchangeable across generations.
Gen | Chassis | Years | Body Styles | Engine | Platform Base |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2nd | E36 | 1992-1999 | Coupe, Convertible, Sedan (from 1994) | S50/S52 I6 | E36 3-Series |
3rd | E46 | 2000-2006 | Coupe, Convertible | S54 I6 | E46 3-Series |
4th | E90/E92/E93 | 2007-2013 | Sedan (E90), Coupe (E92), Convertible (E93) | S65 V8 | E90 3-Series |
5th | F80 | 2014-2018 | Sedan only | S55 Twin-Turbo I6 | F30 3-Series |

Starting from the F80 generation (2014), BMW separated the M3 nameplate by body style:
M3 (F80/G80): Sedan only. This is the nameplate covered by this SKU.
M4 (F82/F83): Coupe and convertible, split from M3 starting 2014. M4 door frames are different from M3 sedan, visors are not interchangeable.
Before the split (E36/E46/E90 era), coupe and convertible variants were still badged as M3 and are covered by this SKU.
Door visors are NOT interchangeable across M3 generations. Each generation has distinct door frame geometry:
E36 vs E46: Different door frame curvature and window channel dimensions
E46 vs E90: E46 has no sedan variant; E90 sedan door frame is wider than E46 coupe
E90 vs F80: Different CLAR platform architecture, redesigned door frame
F80 vs G80: G80 features larger kidney grille and revised body panels, door frame dimensions differ
Although the M3 is based on the 3-Series platform, it features unique body panels including flared fenders, different front and rear bumpers, and modified door frames. M3 door visors are NOT interchangeable with standard 3-Series door visors within the same generation. Buyers must confirm they are ordering for the M3 variant, not the standard 3-Series.
The first-generation M3 (E30, 1986-1991) is not covered by this SKU. The E30 M3 has a completely different 2-door coupe body and door frame design. Buyers with E30 M3 vehicles should contact AutoBridge for a separate fitment solution.
The page lists "2014-2018" for F80 and "2020-Present" for G80. The 2019 model year represents a production gap between the F80 and G80 generations. No 2019 M3 sedans were produced. Buyers should verify their vehicle's production year before ordering.
AutoBridge door visors for the BMW M3 are manufactured using injection molding and plastic uptake processes, with material and design options tailored to each generation's door frame specifications. All options are compatible with the 5 M3 generations covered by this SKU.

Two primary processes are used for door visor production:
Injection Molding: Higher machining accuracy, controllable thickness at 2.0mm to 2.5mm. Preferred for PC and Acrylic materials. Higher mold opening cost but superior surface finish and dimensional precision.
Plastic Uptake (Vacuum Forming): Lower mold opening cost, controllable thickness at 1.2mm to 1.8mm. Suitable for PS material and lower-volume production runs. Acceptable surface quality for applications where visual perfection is not critical.
The widening of door visors is based on the car models. Each M3 generation requires a dedicated mold set to match its unique door frame curvature.
The color of the protective film covers on the chrome/steel trim is transparent or blue. The color can be custom built by buyer.
This door visor set is engineered for the BMW M3 across 5 generations. Each generation requires generation-specific molds due to different door frame dimensions. Verify your M3 generation before ordering.

Due to the use of open network databases like Wikipedia and Autohome, there may be minor variations in year descriptions. "Production Years" are the years when a specific model is first introduced to the public market. "Model Years" refer to the different versions available to consumers. For example, the E36 M3 was introduced in 1992 (Production Year) but Model Year listings may start from 1992 or 1993 depending on the market. These differences do not affect door visor fitment within the same generation.
| Electroplated Bright Strip Shape Design Electroplated bright trims are processed with chrome plating technology on high-quality plastic blanks. The processed chrome-plated bright trim can present a more shiny metallic luster under high light compared to 3D stainless steel decorative strips. When touched by hand, the curvature of the electroplated bright trim is more three-dimensional and rounder than that of the 3D stainless steel chrome trim. To improve weather resistance characteristics, anti-oxidation surface treatment can be applied to electroplated bright trims. Electroplated bright trim s are usually matched with PS materials. |
![]() Mirror stainless steel design with PS material main body | Mirror Stainless Steel Design The design of mirror stainless steel creates a nearly embedded installation for the chrome trim, which is smoothly installed in the groove of the door visor. The chrome trim fits smoothly into the groove of the door visor, providing a smooth feel when touched by hand. This smooth design reflects light differently from 3D stainless steel designs, with a single reflection angle that makes it look more like a flat mirror when reflecting objects. The large curvature of the door visor main body complements the smooth decorative design, creating an obvious turning point relationship and enhancing its overall aesthetic appeal. |
![]() 3D stainless steel design with PC material main body
The PC material of the door visor can be bent to a large extent | 3D Stainless Steel Design The shape of the 3D stainless steel trim is more three-dimensional and rounded than the mirror stainless steel shape. The top and bottom sides of the chrome trim and the protruding vertex in the middle form a curved design. When touched by hand, you can intuitively feel the change in curvature. This curved shape produces varying reflection effects under high light at different angles. The main body of the door visor itself already has a certain curve design, and when they are paired together, they show a more traditional design style. 3D Stainless steel chrome trims are commonly used with PC material door visors. The flexibility of the PC material allows for this type of door visor with such a design can be bent to a large extent. |
Auto parts are essential components for the proper functioning of vehicles used in car assembly lines or for maintenance and repair services after purchase. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) provides a wide range of OES, aftermarket replacement parts, including AC compressors, cylinder heads, oil pumps, power steering pumps, starter motors, and turbochargers. These components are installed in powertrains, steering systems, rear axle assemblies, and chassis assemblies. Auto parts need to meet the design specifications and performance requirements of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, as well as comply with local regulations or CAPA certification. Depending on the requirements based on OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for material or design improvements, aftermarket parts may outperform the original genuine parts.
Car accessories are AFTERMARKET MODIFIED PARTS for cars after the production line.
