Application

These mud flaps are designed for the Volkswagen Santana 3000 (Chaoyuezhe), a China-exclusive mid-size sedan built by Shanghai Volkswagen on the Passat B2 platform. Production spanned 2004 to 2008 for the Santana 3000, with its facelift successor Santana Vista (Zhijun) continuing from 2008 to 2012. Both variants share identical body panels and fender contours, making these mud flaps compatible across the full 2004-2012 range.

Vehicle Coverage

  • Volkswagen Santana 3000 (Chaoyuezhe): 2004-2008, 1.6L / 1.8L / 2.0L EA113

  • Volkswagen Santana Vista (Zhijun): 2008-2012, 1.6L / 1.8L / 2.0L EA113

  • Platform: Volkswagen Passat B2

  • Assembly: Shanghai Volkswagen, China

Platform Context

The Santana 3000 holds a unique place in Chinese automotive history as the first vehicle independently designed by the Shanghai-VW joint venture, rather than by Volkswagen Germany. It succeeded the Santana 2000 (1995-2004) and was itself succeeded by the Santana Vista (2008-2012). The entire B2-based Santana lineage in China produced over 3.5 million units, serving as the backbone of taxi fleets, government vehicles, and private buyers for nearly three decades.

Non-Compatible Models

  • Original Santana (Pu-Sang, 1985-2012): different body shell, shorter wheelbase (2,548mm vs 2,656mm)

  • New Santana (2013-2022): PQ25 platform, completely different vehicle

  • Gran Santana hatchback (2015-2022): different body style and platform

Aftermarket Supply Note

The Santana 3000 has been out of production since 2008 and the Vista since 2012. As a China-exclusive model with no direct successor on the same platform, these mud flaps serve the aftermarket and used-car export market. Buyers in Southeast Asia and the Middle East sourcing parts for legacy Chinese fleet vehicles will find these units applicable to both Santana 3000 and Vista sedans within the 2004-2012 production window.

Product Overview

Factory-spec mud flaps for the Volkswagen Santana 3000 and Vista, engineered to match the original fender contours of the B2-platform sedan. Each set includes four pieces covering front and rear wheel arches.

Specifications

  • Material: PP (polypropylene) soft plastic

  • Color: Black

  • Front wheel dimensions: 180 x 240mm

  • Rear wheel dimensions: 195 x 215mm

  • Quantity: 4 pieces per set (2 front + 2 rear)

  • Net weight: 0.40kg per set

  • Fastener ready: Yes

Material Properties

The PP soft plastic construction provides high elasticity and resistance to bending, maintaining flexibility across temperature ranges typical of Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern climates. The material is selected for its durability against stone chips, road salt, and mud accumulation without cracking or deformation.

Available Material Options

  • PP: Standard OEM-spec polypropylene, factory-original material grade

  • PP+TPE: Blended construction for enhanced cold-weather flexibility

  • TPE: Thermoplastic elastomer for premium aftermarket upgrade

  • ABS: Rigid option for maximum impact resistance

Fitment Guide

The following table outlines vehicle compatibility for these mud flaps. The Santana 3000 and its facelift successor Santana Vista share identical body panels and fender contours, allowing a single mud flap set to cover the full 2004-2012 production range.

Cross-Generation Notes

  • The Santana 3000 was developed from the Santana 2000, sharing the same 2,656mm wheelbase and body structure. Fender contours are understood to be compatible, but buyers should verify the 2000 model year against the specific fender profile.

  • The Santana Vista is a direct facelift of the 3000 with identical body dimensions. All four mud flap positions are fully interchangeable between 3000 and Vista.

  • The Vista Changda is a taxi-specific variant with different front grille styling but identical fender stamping. Mud flap fitment is unchanged.

  • The original Santana (Pu-Sang) uses a shorter wheelbase (2,548mm) and different fender stamping. These mud flaps will not fit the original Santana.

Installation and OEM Options

Installation of these Santana 3000 mud flaps requires the included fastener hardware set. The tool-assisted mounting process uses existing fender screw points without drilling or modification.

Fastener Hardware Included

  • Plastic Fender Fastener Clips: push-type retainers for primary mounting

  • U Clip Screws: secondary retention for secure fitment

  • Allen Screws with Hex Key: wheel-well attachment points

Installation Steps

  1. Clean the wheel-well and fender edge surfaces

  2. Position each mud flap against the corresponding fender contour

  3. Insert plastic fastener clips into existing fender mounting holes

  4. Secure with U clip screws at secondary points

  5. Tighten Allen screws using the included hex key

  6. Verify alignment and clearance with wheel rotation

OEM Material Reference

The original Santana 3000 mud flaps were manufactured from PP (polypropylene) to Shanghai-VW specifications. The aftermarket equivalents offered here match the original dimensions and material grade, providing equivalent splash protection performance. Four material options (PP, PP+TPE, TPE, ABS) are available to suit different climate and usage conditions.

  • The Description Difference between Model Years and Production Years

Due to our use of open network databases, like Wikipedia and Autohome, for some of our vehicle data, there might be minor variations in the descriptions found in our SKU designs. "Production Years" are the years when a specific model is first introduced to the public market. On the other hand, "Model Years" refer to the different versions of a model that were available to consumers in different years. These differences in model years often come with changes to the exterior or interior design of the vehicle. When searching for car information on websites or through dealers, typically you are searching based on 'Model Years'. For instance, the third generation of the Honda Accord was introduced on June 4th, 1985, and ceased production in 1989. ‘1985-1989’ represents the ‘Production Years’ of the Accord, while the ‘Model Years’ in automobile databases are listed as ‘1986-1989’. Due to the different sources of information, there may be differences in the way they are presented. As our products cover car parts and accessories, we have incorporated both "Production Years" and "Model Years" terminology. Please note this.
  • Compatibility Description of Auto Parts

Auto parts are essential components for the proper functioning of vehicles used in car assembly lines or for maintenance and repair services after purchase. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) provides a wide range of OES, aftermarket replacement parts, including AC compressors, cylinder heads, oil pumps, power steering pumps, starter motors, and turbochargers. These components are installed in powertrains, steering systems, rear axle assemblies, and chassis assemblies. Auto parts need to meet the design specifications and performance requirements of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, as well as comply with local regulations or CAPA certification. Depending on the requirements based on OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for material or design improvements, aftermarket parts may outperform the original genuine parts.

  • Compatibility Description of Car Accessories

Car accessories are AFTERMARKET MODIFIED PARTS for cars after the production line. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) offers a variety of accessories, including an airflow snorkel, bumper, door visors, matting, spoiler, and trunk tray. The car accessories are not performance parts and generally do not affect the original power and safety. They are used to modify the appearance style, enhance off-road capabilities, or increase driving comfort. Compared to the genuine accessories, we offer customization services for aftermarket replacement accessories that cater to the buyer's specific requirements. Each accessory can be designed specifically for different car models.
