Winter road salt regions (Northern US, Canada, Northern Europe, Northeast China): mud flaps block salt spray from rocker panels and door sills, reducing corrosion during snow season
Gravel and unpaved access roads (Australia outback, New Zealand rural, Canada cottage country, Scandinavia forest roads): stones kicked up by all-terrain tires are deflected downward, protecting paint and undercarriage
Tropical monsoon regions (Southeast Asia, coastal Queensland): heavy rain creates mud spray on side panels; flaps reduce wash-back onto rear door and window
Urban pothole and construction zones (Middle East new developments, China tier-2 cities): dust and debris deflection for daily commuters
Australia & New Zealand Toyota parts retailers: Kluger was a top-selling SUV; demand for replacement mud flaps remains steady for 2002-2006 units still in service
North American used SUV exporters: XU20 units exported to developing markets (Middle East, Africa, Latin America) often need mud flap replacement due to worn original parts
Fleet operators (AWD taxis, shuttle services, delivery vans based on Highlander chassis): prioritize durability and clip-on install for quick replacement
Off-road aftermarket shops: customers upgrading to all-terrain tires need wider mud flaps to match increased tire width
Material | Thickness | Flexibility | Temperature Range | Recommended Market |
|---|---|---|---|---|
PP soft plastic | 3mm | High (cold-flex) | -30°C to 60°C | Four-season, mild climate |
PP + TPE blend | 4mm | Medium | -20°C to 70°C | All-season, premium feel |
TPE | 4-5mm | Medium-High | -40°C to 80°C | Winter salt, extreme cold |
ABS | 5mm | Low (rigid) | -10°C to 60°C | Urban, show car, maximum stiffness |
Front wheel: 230 × 330 mm (contour-matched to XU20 front bumper and wheel-arch lines)
Rear wheel: 230 × 325 mm (shorter height to clear exhaust heat shield on V6 trims)
Set includes: 4 pieces (front left/right + rear left/right) + 4 sets of install fasteners
Injection molding with OEM-contour die (XU20 wheel arch CAD data)
De-burring and edge rounding (hand-finished on premium SKUs)
Surface texture matching (orange peel level consistent with Toyota interior/exterior plastics)
Fastener pre-assembly check (clip hole alignment with fender existing holes)
Most XU20 trims have pre-drilled holes in the wheel-arch liner. Push the plastic clips through the mud flap pre-punched holes, align with fender holes, and press firmly. No drilling required. Suitable for PP and TPE flaps.
Slide the metal U-clip into the fender lip (top edge of wheel arch). Insert the mud flap, align the clip position, and secure with M5 × 16mm screw. Provides stronger hold for highway driving. Suitable for ABS rigid flaps.
Drill 4 mm pilot hole (if no pre-drilled hole exists), insert stainless steel allen screw from backside, tighten with included hex key. Most secure method for off-road use. Note: drilling may void some markets' vehicle warranty.
For additional bonding on smooth bumper surfaces (XU20 front bumper lower section), apply 3M VHB 4950P tape to the flap's upper contact surface before clip/screw install. Recommended for winter salt regions where ice buildup may loosen clips.
Push out plastic clips with a trim removal tool, or unscrew U-clip screws. Clean mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol before installing new flaps. No permanent modification to vehicle.
Auto parts are essential components for the proper functioning of vehicles used in car assembly lines or for maintenance and repair services after purchase. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) provides a wide range of OES, aftermarket replacement parts, including AC compressors, cylinder heads, oil pumps, power steering pumps, starter motors, and turbochargers. These components are installed in powertrains, steering systems, rear axle assemblies, and chassis assemblies. Auto parts need to meet the design specifications and performance requirements of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, as well as comply with local regulations or CAPA certification. Depending on the requirements based on OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for material or design improvements, aftermarket parts may outperform the original genuine parts.
Car accessories are AFTERMARKET MODIFIED PARTS for cars after the production line. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) offers a variety of accessories, including an airflow snorkel, bumper, door visors, matting, spoiler, and trunk tray. The car accessories are not performance parts and generally do not affect the original power and safety. They are used to modify the appearance style, enhance off-road capabilities, or increase driving comfort. Compared to the genuine accessories, we offer customization services for aftermarket replacement accessories that cater to the buyer's specific requirements. Each accessory can be designed specifically for different car models.
The Hijet and the Gran Max—one is the ultimate space-saving product under Japan's micro commercial vehicle regulations, and the other is a globalized model that broke free from those constraints to reach the pinnacle of practicality.
