  • Precision-engineered from high-elasticity PP soft plastic with pre-installed fastener clips for the 2015-2020 Toyota Highlander XU50, providing factory-spec wheel arch coverage across all four doors.
  • Factory-matched contours suit both Highlander (North America, China, Middle East) and Kluger (Australia, Japan) variants on the 3rd-generation XU50 platform, including the 2017 facelift refresh.
  • OEM-profile dimensions (front 190x395mm, rear 285x400mm) replicate original equipment wheel well geometry, ensuring proper gap alignment without drilling or body modification.
  • Custom-contoured wheel protection reduces stone chip damage and road salt spray on midsize SUVs driven across mixed urban and highway surfaces in Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern export markets.

Vehicle Application

Engineered to match the wheel arch contours of the 3rd-generation Toyota Highlander (XU50 platform), these mud flaps provide precision fitment across the full 2015-2020 model year range. The XU50 was produced at Toyota's Princeton, Indiana plant for North American markets and at GAC Toyota's Guangzhou facility for the Chinese market.

  • Toyota Highlander (North America, China, Middle East): 2015-2020, all trims (LE, XLE, SE, Limited, Limited Platinum)

  • Toyota Kluger (Australia, New Zealand, Japan): 2015-2020, all trims (GX, GLX, Grande)

  • Pre-facelift (2015-2016): Original XU50 styling, 6-speed automatic transmission

  • Facelift (2017-2020): Updated front fascia, headlights, taillights, and new SE trim. Wheel arch geometry unchanged.

Trim Compatibility

All XU50 trims share identical wheel well dimensions regardless of engine choice (2.7L I4, 3.5L V6, or 3.5L V6 Hybrid) or drivetrain configuration (FWD or AWD). Mud flap fitment is body-dependent, not powertrain-dependent.

Market Naming Note

The vehicle is marketed as "Highlander" in North America, China, and most global markets. In Australia and Japan, it is sold as "Kluger" due to a trademark conflict with Hyundai's Highlander trim line in Australia. Both names refer to the identical XU50 vehicle, and these mud flaps fit both variants without modification.

Product Overview

Four-piece mud flap set manufactured from high-elasticity polypropylene (PP) soft plastic, designed to replicate factory wheel arch coverage for the Toyota Highlander XU50.

  • Material: PP soft plastic, high elasticity and bending resistance

  • Color: Black

  • Front dimensions: 190 x 395 mm per piece

  • Rear dimensions: 285 x 400 mm per piece

  • Total pieces: 4 (2 front + 2 rear)

  • Net weight: 0.96 kg per set

  • Fastener ready: Yes, pre-configured for clip-in installation

Available Material Options

Beyond the standard PP construction, buyers may specify alternative materials based on climate and budget requirements:

  • PP (standard): High elasticity, cost-effective, suitable for temperate to hot climates

  • PP+TPE: Enhanced low-temperature flexibility for cold climate markets

  • TPE: Premium thermoplastic elastomer, odorless, fully recyclable

  • ABS: Rigid construction for extreme impact resistance on rough terrain

Fastener Hardware

Each set includes plastic fender fastener clips, U-clip screws, and Allen screws with hex key for complete installation without additional hardware sourcing. All fasteners are sized to match Toyota OEM fender liner mounting points on the XU50.

Fitment & Compatibility

These mud flaps are engineered specifically for the Toyota Highlander XU50 (3rd generation). The XU50 wheel arch design is distinct from both the preceding XU40 and the succeeding XU70 generations.

Generation Compatibility

  • XU50 (2014-2021): Direct fit, all model years and trims. Covers both pre-facelift (2014-2016) and facelift (2017-2019/2020) variants.

  • XU40 (2008-2013): Not compatible. Different wheel arch profile and fender contour from the 2nd-generation platform.

  • XU70 (2020-present): Not compatible. Redesigned body on the TNGA-K platform with altered wheel well geometry and new fender stampings.

Facelift Compatibility Note

The 2017 facelift updated the front grille, headlights, taillights, and added new trim levels (SE, XLE Hybrid, LE Hybrid). A new 8-speed automatic transmission replaced the 6-speed on V6 models. However, the fender and wheel arch stampings remained unchanged from pre-facelift models. Mud flap fitment is identical across all XU50 model years.

Platform Relatives (Not Interchangeable)

The XU50 shares Toyota's K-platform architecture with the Lexus RX (AL20) and Toyota Sienna (XL30). Despite the shared platform, body panels, fender shapes, and wheel arch dimensions differ significantly between these models. These mud flaps will not fit the Lexus RX or Toyota Sienna.

Year Range Clarification

This SKU is listed for 2015-2020. The XU50 generation was introduced as a 2014 model year in North America and continued through 2019 (US market) and 2021 (China and Australia). The 2015-2020 range covers the core production period for most export markets. Early 2014 models share identical wheel arch fitment and can use these mud flaps without issue.

Installation Guide

Installation requires no drilling or permanent modification to the vehicle. The mud flaps mount using existing fender liner fastener holes with the included hardware kit.

Tools Required

  • Allen hex key (included in kit)

  • Flathead screwdriver (for push pin removal)

  • Torque wrench (optional, for precise fastening)

Installation Steps

  1. Clean the wheel arch and fender liner area with degreaser to ensure proper clip seating.

  2. Remove existing fender liner push pins at the designated mud flap mounting points using a flathead screwdriver.

  3. Position the front mud flap (190 x 395 mm) against the front wheel arch, aligning mounting holes with fender liner slots.

  4. Insert plastic fender fastener clips through the mud flap into the fender liner holes.

  5. Secure with U-clip screws and tighten using the included Allen hex key.

  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the rear mud flaps (285 x 400 mm).

  7. Verify all fasteners are seated flush and the mud flap sits parallel to the tire sidewall with adequate clearance.

Important Notes

  • Install on a flat, level surface with the vehicle parked and handbrake engaged.

  • Front and rear mud flaps are shaped differently. Do not interchange front and rear positions.

  • For vehicles previously fitted with OEM mud guards, remove all old hardware before installation.

  • Check fastener tightness after 500 km of driving as clips may settle into final position.

  • Avoid overtightening Allen screws, as this may crack the PP plastic at the mounting tab.

  • The Description Difference between Model Years and Production Years

Due to our use of open network databases, like Wikipedia and Autohome, for some of our vehicle data, there might be minor variations in the descriptions found in our SKU designs. "Production Years" are the years when a specific model is first introduced to the public market. On the other hand, "Model Years" refer to the different versions of a model that were available to consumers in different years. These differences in model years often come with changes to the exterior or interior design of the vehicle. When searching for car information on websites or through dealers, typically you are searching based on 'Model Years'. For instance, the third generation of the Honda Accord was introduced on June 4th, 1985, and ceased production in 1989. ‘1985-1989’ represents the ‘Production Years’ of the Accord, while the ‘Model Years’ in automobile databases are listed as ‘1986-1989’. Due to the different sources of information, there may be differences in the way they are presented. As our products cover car parts and accessories, we have incorporated both "Production Years" and "Model Years" terminology. Please note this.
  • Compatibility Description of Auto Parts

Auto parts are essential components for the proper functioning of vehicles used in car assembly lines or for maintenance and repair services after purchase. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) provides a wide range of OES, aftermarket replacement parts, including AC compressors, cylinder heads, oil pumps, power steering pumps, starter motors, and turbochargers. These components are installed in powertrains, steering systems, rear axle assemblies, and chassis assemblies. Auto parts need to meet the design specifications and performance requirements of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, as well as comply with local regulations or CAPA certification. Depending on the requirements based on OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for material or design improvements, aftermarket parts may outperform the original genuine parts.

  • Compatibility Description of Car Accessories

Car accessories are AFTERMARKET MODIFIED PARTS for cars after the production line. Autobridge™ (Xiamen) offers a variety of accessories, including an airflow snorkel, bumper, door visors, matting, spoiler, and trunk tray. The car accessories are not performance parts and generally do not affect the original power and safety. They are used to modify the appearance style, enhance off-road capabilities, or increase driving comfort. Compared to the genuine accessories, we offer customization services for aftermarket replacement accessories that cater to the buyer's specific requirements. Each accessory can be designed specifically for different car models.
